"Thrilling Rock Musical"
Book and Lyrics by Brian Yorkey
Music by Tom Kitt
Feeling Electric is a moving, edgy, darkly funny, and brutally honest look at one family's struggle with mental illness, at how families cope with pain, and at the way our society deals with and treats depression. A woman who has suffered from delusional depression since the death of her first baby struggles to keep family life sane for her supportive husband and surly teenage daughter. But when a hotshot young doctor recommends ECT (shock therapy) to cure the woman's ills, the entire family is set on a course that will change their lives forever. With tuneful, energetic rock music telling an adventurous and theatrical story, it's an unforgettable look at families, grief, recovery, and treatments that might be worse than the disease they are meant to cure.
Feeling Electric may not be appropriate for children ages 13 and under.
Because audiences have different opinions of what may be suitable for our younger patrons, a Family Guide is provided to assist you when deciding what is appropriate for your family. |
