Village Originals

Thank you for your interest in Village Theatre’s Village Originals programs. Please review the guidelines below thoroughly before submitting materials.


We accept submissions of new Musicals ONLY. Please do not submit non-musical Plays.


We only accept submissions from literary agents or via professional recommendation from a colleague already known to us.


If you do not have an agent, you can send:

  • a letter of introduction with a synopsis of the play
  • a physical audio CD with a numbered track list (please, no DVDs or website links!)
  • a character list specifying age, gender, and ethnicity
  • a scene breakdown specifying locations


If the material suggests a potential fit with our program we will contact you with a request for the complete script. Please note that due to volume we cannot respond to all inquiries. Our focus is musical theatre pieces only. Please do not submit non-musical plays.


We accept scripts throughout the year. Most authors are notified of the status of their submissions within six to nine months of receipt. Please do not call our office as we are not staffed to handle such inquiries.
