Versions available to preview: There is a made for TV movie (1998). The story is based on T.S. Elliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. Production length: Act I is 55 minutes, Act II is 53 minutes. There is one fifteen minute intermission. Synopsis: The longest running show on Broadway, CATS takes place on the night of the Jellicle Ball-the annual night of celebration for the special clan of cats. Told entirely in song and dance, the story explores each cat's individual story-from the cat who works on the railroad, to the pranksters who cause havoc in their owner's home, to the sad and tattered Grizabella who lives only in her faded memories. Sexual content: Some song lyrics and dance movements might be somewhat suggestive. Language: There is no language of note. Substances: One of the cats is known for his fondness for food and drink. Violence: A couple of fights are depicted in song and dance-highly stylized. |
