SummerStock Technical Program (Ages 13–20)

Selected candidates for the Technical Program will train with theatre professionals in building and painting sets; pulling and constructing costumes; hanging and focusing lights; and assembling props during the rehearsal process. Tech program students will also work backstage or in the booth during the run of the show. There is no tuition for this program, but students are expected to commit to the entire rehearsal and performance schedule. To interview for a position, please contact (425) 392-1942 x147.

 

SummerStock Musicians

Students on the track to become professional musicans may audition for our KIDSTAGE SummerStockOrchestra program. Selected students rehearse and perform in the pit for a two-week run of the KIDSTAGE SummerStock musical. The SummerStock musical is performed on the stage at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre. Students are challenged to execute their skills at the highest level alongside recognized professionals. Past participants of this program have continued on to play in the pit of our professional mainstage productions. There is no cost for this program.

Please bring your instrument(s) and a piece that showcases your musicianship. You may be asked to sight-read from the score for The Secret Garden.

Rehearsals: Orchestra rehearsals will be required on the evenings of July 28–July 31, 2008.
Additional sectional rehearsals will take place in July; times/dates TBA (generally weekend mornings)

KIDSTAGE Summer Independent, Issaquah

KIDSTAGE Summer Independent is the pinnacle of the KIDSTAGE program. The Summer Independent is produced, designed and directed entirely by young artists under 20. Professional mentorship is provided by Village Theatre artists and staff.

Note: It is possible to be cast and participate in both SummerStock and Summer Independent Production

Audition Information

Beginning March 10, 2008, or call (425) 392-1942 ext. 147 to schedule an audition appointment.
Auditions: April 19, 20, 21, and May 10, 2008
Actors need to prepare a one-minute monologue and 32 bars from a song.
Bring piano sheet music in a three-ring binder plus two copies of a photo and resume.
Callbacks: May 17, 2008, 12:00 PM–7:00 PM

Other Information

Rehearsals: June 3–July 17, 2008, weeknights, 6:00–10:00 PM (plus some Saturdays)
Tuition (if cast): No tuition, but 10 hours of work-study are required.

Performances: July 18–July 27, 2008, at First Stage Theatre
