Village Theatre will be holding auditions for the 2017-2018 Season for AEA and non-union performers.

March 7-9 in Seattle & March 10 in Issaquah

Audition Dates and Times:

Village Theatre will be holding Singer/Actor auditions for their 2017-2018 Season, Village Originals Beta Series, and Village Originals Festival of New Musicals on March 7th-9th, 2017 from 11am-7pm at Seattle Children’s Theatre and Dance auditions on March 10th, 2017 at 11am & 2pm at Village Theatre, Issaquah. These auditions are for principal and ensemble actors, singers, and dancers ages 17+.

Village Theatre has a specific need for athletic dancers with advanced experienced in tumbling, jazz and tap. Village Theatre would also like to encourage actors of all ethnic and cultural groups to attend auditions as well as equity and non-equity performers alike.

All auditions are by appointment only.

To Reserve an Audition Spot:
To sign-up for an appointment please email jspencer@villagetheatre.org with the following information:

  • Name
  • Union Status
  • Preferred Date & Time of Audition
  • Please allow 2-3 days to process this request.

What to Bring:
If you attend the singer/actor call you must bring:

  • A current resume and 8”x10” headshot (these items will not be returned).
  • A short monologue, no longer than 60 seconds.
  • A song selection no longer than one chorus and one verse (approx. 32 bars) from the musical theatre canon. You must bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided; taped accompaniment or singing a cappella will not be permitted.
  • Please be prepared with a second musical selection as you may be asked to sing an alternate selection.

For those wishing to attend the dancer call on Friday, March 10th, please email jspencer@villagetheatre.org with your preferred audition time from the options below:

  • 11am-1pm: Women’s Tap & Athletic Jazz Call
  • 2-4pm: Men’s Tap & Athletic Jazz Call

You must be at least 17 years old (as of August 1, 2017) to audition; those 16 and under may submit a headshot and resume to:

Additional Audition Opportunities:

For additional opportunities and training, young performers may also attend our Village Theatre KIDSTAGE auditions in May at either the Issaquah or Everett locations. For more information visit: https://www.villagetheatre.org/kidstage.php.

If you would like to be considered but are unavailable for the scheduled audition dates, you may email video submissions starting March 7th, 2017 to jspencer@villagetheatre.org with the subject line: 2017-2018 Video Submissions. Please include a current digital headshot & resume along with a link to your recorded audition. Please do NOT include an attachment of your recorded audition—a link to your submission is preferred.

Callbacks will be held on a per-show basis throughout the season. All Mainstage productions are at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre (303 Front Street N.) in Issaquah for at least six weeks and then move to the Everett Performing Arts Center for the last four weeks of each run. Village Originals Beta Series Productions are presented at First Stage Theatre (120 Front Street N.) in Issaquah. Issaquah is located 17 miles east of Seattle, Washington. The Everett Performing Arts Center is in downtown Everett, Washington.
