ARTS ADVENTURES PRESCHOOL (Pre-K)

Tuition: $450 (or $150 monthly)
Description: This two-day-a-week program offers an enriching, creative learning environment for your preschool aged child to embark on a journey of imagination and discovery.

Exploratory Acting (Section A) - Knuffle Bunny and Other Mo Willems Stories
Dates & Time: Wednesdays, October 6-December 8, 2010, 4:00 - 5:00 PM
Tuition: $160
Description: Mo Willems’ fabulous books including Knuffle Bunny, Leonardo the Terrible Monster, and the popular Pigeon series are the inspiration for this class. Students use their imaginations to make these colorful characters come to life.

Grades K-2
Exploratory Acting (Section B) - Toy Stories
Dates & Time: Wednesdays, October 6-December 8, 2010, 5:15 - 6:15 PM
Tuition: $160
Decription: Toys alive! Come on a grand adventure with such memorable characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Corduroy the Bear, and other toy friends. Join us and act out your own original “toy story.”

Exploratory Acting (Section C) - Pirates and Mermaids on the High Seas

Musical Theatre 1 (Section A) - The Princess and the Frog: Scenes and Songs

Description: This jazzy Disney hit injects New Orleans blues and energy into the KIDSTAGE classroom. Put on your webbed feet and sing and dance your way through the Bayou.

Description: Enter the magical world of Narnia (no fur-coat required.) C.S. Lewis’ classic book series including The Voyage of the Dawn Treader are the inspiration for this mystical and unforgettable adventure. Develop memorable characters while exploring concepts such as voice, movement, character objective, and stage presence.

Musical Theatre 1 (Section C) - Wicked: Scenes and Songs

Description: Students work in a collaborative style to develop musical theatre skills through songs and scenes from the smash hit Wicked. Sing memorable favorites, such as “Defying Gravity”, “Dancing Through Life”, and “Popular.”

Grades 3-5
Musical Theatre 1 (Section D) - Wicked: Scenes and Songs

Musical Theatre 2 (Section A) - Mamma Mia and Other Movie Musicals

Dates & Time: Thursdays, October 7 - December 16, 2010 5:45 - 7:15 PM
Tuition: $180
Description: Join the movie musical craze! Foster the skills for the “triple threat” performer: singing, acting, and dancing. Students advance their musical theatre skills as they work on favorite numbers from such musicals as Mamma Mia!, Dreamgirls, Legally Blonde, and the phenomenal Hairspray.

Grades 4-8
Acting 2 (Section A) - Acting a Role

Dates & Times: Thursdays, October 7-December 16, 2010, 4:00 - 5:30 PM
Tuition: $180
Description: This is an intermediate course for the young student to fine-tune acting techniques. Class will include character development, ensemble building, and monologue and/or scene-study using contemporary plays, scenes for film, and must-know theatre literature.

Grades 4-12
Dance 1 and 2 - Dance Essentials

Dates & Times: Saturdays, October 2-December 4, 2010, 10:00 - 11:30 AM
Tuition: $200
Description: Dance Essentials provides tools to increase flexibility and improve core strength. Work on need to know theatre dance steps, and the fundamentals of turns and jumps. Explore acting through dance, specificity of movement, dancing with strength, and selling a dance number.

Grades 4-12
Singing for Musical Theatre 2

Dates & Times: Saturdays, October 2-December 4, 2010, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Tuition: $160
Description: A complete song-learning class, designed to help performers learn more about singing and story-telling through music. Areas covered include vocal technique, music theory, breath control, rhythm, melody, sight-reading, and acting through song. Students expand their vocal range, fine tune their ears, strengthen breathing, and learn new music, all in a small class of eight students maximum. (This class does not take the place of individual voice lessons, which should be taken privately, year-round for serious singers.)

Grades 8-12
Acting 2 (Section B) - Acting a Role

Dates & Times: Thursday, October 7-December 16, 2010, 5:45 - 7:15 PM
